The Pittsburg (KS) Morning Sun reported today about a voting machine error in Crawford County. The Crawford County Clerk, Don Pyle, will be discussing the error during canvassing this Friday morning. Pyle said the error may have affected candidates in three races but did not identify the contests. From the Sun:
“It’s something we can fix very simply,” Pyle said. “So we want to work within the canvass and election guidelines and within the full view of the public as well. We want them to feel comfortable that the final voting tally is accurate.”
Yesterday, we’ve heard the same thing over and over and over. It was quiet at the polls. Despite some instances of trouble in Milwaukee, it was smooth sailing across Wisconsin. I think we can all agree that a calm and peaceful election day is something we all desire and is a great thing for the democratic process.
Could the Freaky Puppet Shows, with the purpose of entertaining bored lines, scare voters off? Probably not. We feel that it was the unprecedented processes by the Obama Campaign (and McCain too) to mobilize voters to take advantage of the early voting process. For example, there was a nearly 67% turnout in the City of Milwaukee yesterday with 229,859 votes cast. There were approximately 40,000 absentee or early ballots cast. That’s almost 18%! Here’s an exerpt of early voting stats from the City of Madison or Dane County, WI.
With Madisonians casting early ballots at a rate of 1,200 to 1,500 a day, that means the total could get as high as 33,000 by Tuesday, perhaps even 35,000.
That would mean that early voting is up by roughly 25 percent over the previous record year, 2004, when 25,258 ballots were cast before Election Day.
This explains the reason for quiet polls in the evening of November 4th across the state. It’s not the purpose of Voter Fraud Squad to discuss why election results are the way they are, however, it should be concluded that quiet days at the polls can be attributed to the Obama Camp’s Early GOTV efforts.
An item Voter Fraud Squad will discuss and will be researching in the coming weeks is the fraud associated with the early voting process. Early voting or absentee voting has the potential to single handedly increase fraud due to lack of verification. Most fraud will be found in the coming weeks. Thanks and hope you stay tuned to updates.
Here’s a sample of one of a Freaky Puppet show at the Milwaukee Humane Society polling location on West Wisconsin Ave. Despite there not being much voting activity in the evening on November 4th, this is so bizarre, it may have scared folks from voting. I thought Halloween was last Friday
We were just at a polling location in Milwaukee with 3-4 wards at the one location. Poll workers are SHOCKED across the city that the polls are this dead at 7:00pm CST.
One long-time election official has state that “This is the Erie, like a calm before a tornado, although the tornado never comes…”
A candidate for Secretary of State in Vermont is asking for a probe into what he says is voter fraud. Eugene Bifano, of Warren, a Republican challenger calls for the investigation…………………………
Well, my final assessment for the voting in Franklin County, Ohio (in the capitol city of Ohio, Columbus) is… everything went smoothly for the most part.
I visited half a dozen different precincts in the city and what was striking was the low numbers of voters throughout. Even into the 6PM hour the crowds were low. Only the early morning saw the numbers a little higher with up to two hours wait, but only for a short time.
There is one major reason for this: early voting. For some ridiculous reason, Franklin County had early voting all the way until midnight on the 3rd. Then, the polls opened for regular voting at 6:30 on the 4th. This took a tremendous number of voters away from voting on the actual election-day.
It’s Dinner Time! There are reports of a Food for Votes program on the north side sponsored by the Obama Campaign.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that a self-identified Obama campaign worker delievered food and bottled water to poll workers at Hampton School and presumably other North Side polling locations this afternoon. The individual, who left without identifying himself, at first said the bounty at Hampton School was for the poll workers, then said it was for voters waiting in line. While the law is apparently silent on delivery of food to poll workers (at least according to the Milwaukee Election Commission), it expressly prohibits the giving of “anything of value” to a voter to influence that voter’s choices.
Teams are on the ground on the North Side of Milwaukee. We hope to find this soon. Also, look ahead to a couple of posts and video of ”Performers at the polls” and a “Bayside polling location shutdown” due to very messed up ballot and ballot tag numbers.
Campaign Conference Call With Senior Advisors Brian Jones And Ed O’Callaghan On Voter Fraud
The Mccain conference at 2pm with the media, and some bloggers who got to listen (tis me, I confess) underlied a level of confusion that seems to exist within the Mccain camp. This collection of amiable sounding guys, the kind of folks we all talk to every day, unveiled a list of voter fraud “concerns”, or perhaps violations, or other some such interpretation of the avalanche of data, supposedly, but not completely…
The old Chicago machine saying “vote early, vote often” might be a thing of the past. Long ago, even before John F. Kennedy, Chicago political machines have been churning out votes, with a less integrity than Chinese toys… uh, produce… uh, milk…. Now this seems to be a thing of the past, now that every vote will be checked by authorities against a statewide online database. Bob Saar, Executive Director of the Dupage County Elections commissions says:
“This is the first general election where it’s really online, working well,” he said. “If anybody’s thinking about voting in more than one location in Illinois, they’re going to get caught.”
All is said and good, but why do I still have my doubts? After all, it is Chicago, and where there is a a will, a will and testament, and a Daley is in charge, there is a way.
The first challenged ballots in Milwaukee have been reported to city hall.
7 challenged absentee ballots have already been filed by an off duty police officer who was monitoring the 4200 N. Holton Ave absentee ballot processing center. Officials say that 30,000 ballots are expected to be processed today.
The ballots were being challenged based on non-residency. The law says that in order to vote, you must be a resident by 10 days before the election.
The investigation continues for all seven ballots, and a voter fraud conviction is a felony and is punishable by up to three years in prison.
Investigators on the scene tell Scott Steele this could be the tip of the iceberg, and there could be many, many more ballots disputed, making it a very long and busy day Tuesday.
